Litetronics International is proud to announce that the 15-watt dimmable Micro-Brite cold cathode light bulb won the 2010 Platinum Award for Design Excellence (ADEX) sponsored by Design Journal, the international trade publication for interior designers, architects, and facility managers. The ADEX awards are the largest and most prestigious award program for product design of furniture, fixtures, and finishes to the design trade.
“We at Litetronics feel honored that the 15-watt dimmable Micro-Brite cold cathode light bulb won the platinum ADEX award,” said Bob Sorensen, vice president of marketing for Litetronics. “Litetronics is committed to providing green lighting solutions that meet the performance and aesthetic needs of designers and architects. We look forward to continuing this tradition with the launch of our new LED PARFECTION Series light bulbs in 2010.”
The Litetronics Micro-Brite is the industry’s first dimmable 15-watt cold cathode light bulb. It has a specially engineered ballast that allows it to dim down to 5% of light output on standard dimmers, so no additional equipment is required. This is increased dimming capability over standard hot cathode fluorescent light bulbs that only dim down to 20% of light output, which is not low enough for some applications, such as restaurants and cinemas. The 15-watt dimmable Micro-Brite cold cathode light bulb dims low enough for any lighting design and replaces a 60-watt bulb when operated at full voltage. It generates 750 lumens and saves up to 75% on energy costs compared to a 60-watt A19 incandescent bulb. The 15-watt Micro-Brite bulb has an 18,000-hour life and is available in a standard medium base and a GU24 base.
